It was our first birthday on 8th August 2009 (Happy Birthday Tavasa), a time to reflect, what about our success, and what next for Tavasa. Tavasa is one year old.
Tavasa was founded in October 2008 by Gaynor Paynter from Typewrite Transcription and Typing Services (est 2005) and Alison Fourie from AMF Typing Services cc (est 2001). We have run Tavasa for a year without both of us ever meeting, we liaise by using online messenger services and email, it shows we truly are virtual and are able to run a successful group this way. Gaynor and myself are very experienced within our fields. When we started out we learnt everything on our own, there was very little help available to us. We both learnt the hard way to grow our businesses. That is why we now offer our support to the newbie’s and also to clients to assist them in times of recession and downsizing.
We are the first group of our kind in South Africa to incorporate Virtual Assistants and Trancriptionist within the same group, a Tavasa 1st.
Another Tavasa 1st will be holding Webinars and training sessions for Virtual Assistants and Transcriptionists in SA, prepared by VAs and Transcsriptionists drawing from our experience to assist the new people coming through, subjects are: How to do Flow Diagrams, Creating Databases, Dealing with our Tax etc, these are in the progress of being organised.
We are the first group that started a VA, Transcriptionist Forum in South Africa, another Tavasa 1st.
Tavasa was formed as there was a need for a support group within South Africa for Virtual Assistants and Transcriptionists.
Tavasa is heading in many directions, Recruitment, Chat Room, Support Group, Twitter, Online Forum etc; we are a force within the industry in South Africa.
- Provide support for people in our industries
- Bring together a group of professionals who can support each other
- Set standards for our industries in South Africa.
Because we like to have immediate access to queries that arise from our members, and because many people in South Africa still find it easier to access email on a regular basis as opposed to accessing an internet browser regularly, our main means of communication is an email discussion forum, and you can join our group at http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/tavasa/
Our benefits to members include:
- Potential employment opportunities – preference is given to our TAVASA members for any job leads we may have
- Information on How to start a Virtual Assistant / Transcription Business Ebooks
- Templates as requested, including financial, business, VA and Transcription etc
- Business contracts and forms such as agreements and contracts required within our business, work templates
- Private help with rates calculations and quotations
- Exposure by publication of your articles and names on our blog.
- Free Membership.
You can also have a look at our blog at www.tavasa.blogspot.com. Our blog is very popular, its the place to visit if you are new to Transcription and Virtual Assistant. We encourage our members to place articles within our blog, it will give you exposure in the industry as our blog is seen far and wide.
Clients are very welcome to contact us too! We can meet any transcription or virtual assistant requirements.
Tavasa is successful. There certainly was a need for it in South Africa. Now VAs and Transcriptionists have a place to go to look for advice, mentoring, job leads, contractor leads, letting off steam, laugh and interact with each other. It is a place for everyone to let them know they are not sitting in their virtual offices alone/lonely, there is support in the form of Tavasa.
The Virtual Assistant/Transcription Industry’s are growing daily within the country. Our aim is to spread news about the industries within our country and to make Tavasa a household name for people who work from their own offices, within their own environment.
We provide Virtual Assistant and Transcription services to clients, entrepreneurs, business people, and corporates.
We have a lot of experts aboard Tavasa in their fields.
One of our skills is we can provide a group of expert VAs or Transcribers for larger jobs that one VA/Transcriptionist cannot provide.
Tavasa is free to join. http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/tavasa/
